NCLA operates an intake hotline for the cities and towns in Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, and Plymouth Counties, as well as the towns of Stoughton and Avon (Norfolk County) in its service area.  Applications for legal services are accepted by telephone and by appointment. Intake assistance includes telephone information and pro se advice.

Please Note: You may want to avoid using mobile phones to call NCLA's intake line wherever possibe. Please try to use a land line, as our lines can get busy and you may be on hold for a while. Being on hold on a mobile phone uses up minutes from your phone plan.

NCLA maintains both paralegal and attorney staff fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.  NCLA’s secretary is also fluent in Spanish.  NCLA’s telephone intake system is accessible in English, Spanish and Portuguese (including staff, telephone instructions and follow-up correspondence as well as materials).  NCLA also has access to translation capabilities through Language Lines, a telephone-based provider of translation services available on an immediate, as-needed basis.
